5 out of 5 stars Awesome Stroller!!!   February 22, 2010
Christian's Mommy (New York)
This is a great Umbrella stroller. Nice and sturdy for a larger child up to 55 lbs. Very attractive patterns, pretty lightweight, easy to store in trunk. I have had many different types of strollers and this is one of the best. So much easier than the big bulky strollers. Wish it came with a cupholder but most umbrella strollers don't anyways. Huge basket for an umbrella too! Love it!

4 out of 5 stars Umbrella stroller that reclines!   January 5, 2010

After researching various umbrella strollers both in-store and online, I decided to order the Britax blink about 4 months ago. The Maclaren stroller seems very similar, but is much more expensive for a reclining model.

It took me a few tries to figure out how to fold and unfold it. Since I don't use it daily, I still have trouble with folding it from time to time. It also feels heavy- heavier than my Graco Metrolite. However, it feels very sturdy, and is much more maneuverable in small spaces, like a department store.
My 22 month-old is really comfortable in it- he has fallen asleep in it while we are out and about. He also liked climbing in and out of it from the beginning! The 5 point harness does restrain him when I need it to, though.

The basket is small, and it doesn't have a cup holder, but with the way it folds and stores, there really isn't room. I will gladly give these up for the way it folds so compactly. I keep it in the trunk of my car, and it fits nicely at the side.

There is plenty of room for him to grow and still use it. He is pretty thin, but tall. I like that it fits up to about 50 lbs. We still have a lot of time to use it. So far, I am extremely pleased with this stroller.

PS- I ordered the Double Dots, and the fabric is much more of a blue than the picture makes it seem. Not as teal.

1 out of 5 stars Stroller broke after 3 uses   November 11, 2009

We purchased this stroller instead of the Maclaren because it was cheaper and seemed durable. However, after only 3 uses the carrying strap on it broke. You can't use the stroller without this strap. Britax sent us a new one, but the strap also appears to be very fragile where it is fastened to the rivet. Poorly designed, looks like it could easily tear as well. I would recommend spending the extra money and getting something better. It's too bad, because everything else about the stroller is good, minus the small seat space. We have a Bob Revolution and also a Peg Perego Pliko- both are way better, though they are different classes of stroller of course.

4 out of 5 stars Outstanding Umbrella Stroller   October 24, 2009

The Britax Blink is an excellent stroller. I was given a Graco stroller by a friend of mine and thought I was set. However, the handle was waaaay too short for this 5'8" mom. I began looking around and doing some research on strollers and the MacLaren Quest Sport was leading the way with the taller handles, 5 point harness, basket and it turned on a dime. The price was more than I wanted to spend and I unexpectedly happened upon the Britax. I already own the Britax Boulevard car seat and appreciate the quality and safety in the product. I had no idea Britax also made strollers. After reading numerous reviews I decided to take the gamble and ordered one on-line, as I had not been able to find a store that carried the Blink. The Blink was almost $100 less than the MacLaren Quest Sport. The Blink has a much better basket(more accessible), extra pocket for wallet/cell phone/keys/sunglasses storage, excellent closure mechanism, larger wheels for a smooth ride and great handles. Even after this high level of satisfaction once I received the stroller (a cinch to click on the front wheels and the canopy -- everything else was done), I wanted to compare the MacLaren side by side. I was thrilled to find that I liked the Blink better and had saved almost $100 over the MacLaren. Both corner extremely well, but I think the handles on the Blink are better, the basket is accessible and fits a diaper bag that is equipped for every survival scenario imaginable with a 12 month old, superior to the MacLaren Sport. The closure mechanism and carry strap are great, so easy to use and very quick. Although I have not had to carry the stroller to date, I like having the option. The wheels are smooth, not fidgety, unlike the Graco I also own. My daughter is small so I had to adjust the strap height which was relatively simple and straightforward. On top of all the features (I've not used the canopy much, so cannot comment on it either way) the style is fun and differentiates the stroller from the field. I decided on the double circles so in a stroller parking area mine would stand out. My daughter likes the stroller and is quite happy in it. She is very social and energetic and does not sleep when we are out and about so I have not used the recline mechanism and don't anticipate getting much use of it, but I think the adjustable leg rest and recline are nice to have for those people who are fortunate enough to have children who sleep in the midst of things.

I was looking for a stroller that was tall enough for me, had an accessible basket, smooth wheels, tight turning radius, affordable, comfortable for my daughter and would grow with her, easy to close and open and very easy to maneuver. This stroller exceeded my expectations and was an excellent purchase. I'm glad that I looked further than at what the local stores carried and let my prior experience with Britax take that leap of faith.

UPDATE:
Less than 1 month later...
The collapse feature on the stroller failed and the D-ring that holds the strap cracked easily when I attempted to get the stroller closed. Once cracked, the strap slipped out so it was impossible to close the stroller per instructed. I wrapped duct tape around the D-ring and contacted Britax to obtain a new D-ring. Britax replaced the stroller, no cost to me. While I was extremely disappointed in this early failure and the evident weakness in parts design (plastic D-ring), I was pleased with Britax's responsiveness. There have been no issues with the new stroller. However, I am not using it as much since I returned to work full-time and my daughter is more mobile. I gave the stroller 4 stars in that I am still happy with it compared to the other strollers on the market and Britax did respond promptly to my letter (yes, I wrote a letter as Britax is closed on the weekend and does not have an interactive website to email issues to customer service, which I would like them to address). Along with updating their website to include a customer service email I would like to see them change out the plastic D-ring to metal as the plastic D-ring does not seem sturdy enough for the repetitive stress that is put on that part.
