3 out of 5 stars Good, not great, and not good for anyone over 5"10"   August 1, 2010
tifdotcom (New York, NY)
We have been using this stroller for over a year-and-a-half. As you know, it's not cheap!

Good - very comfortable for my daughter - she never looks like she's uncomfortable, folds compactly, love the shoulder strap for getting on and off buses etc and it's very light.

Bad - my husband, who is 6 ft, kicks the wheels when he walks and can't use it. This is a HUGE downside for us. Also, the basket is tiny and most importantly, hard to get things into. Lastly, the shade is almost useless. It's not big enough. I hear my daughter saying "EYES!!" all the time because the sun is in her eyes, and the shade should be helping her.

I need to get another stroller so my husband can use it, and one that has a better canopy shade. I'm not happy that I have to get a new stroller after a year-and-a-half of use, just because I can't take it anymore.

5 out of 5 stars Outstanding for Urban and Suburban Areas   April 7, 2010

The Maclaren Quest Sport is an outstanding stroller choice for individuals living in urban and suburban areas. Because the wheels are not designed for unpaved or rough surfaces, individuals who frequently walk those type surfaces may wish to look at other alternatives. However, since we are using this stroller for our grandson in a suburban environment I am rating it on that basis.

The Quest Sport is a well-made piece of equipment. The tubing which makes up the stroller frame is sturdy and provides excellent support for the seating sling. Because the seat has five different positions, this stroller is easy to use at an early stage in your little one's life. The adjustable handles are well padded and comfortable to hold onto; we have six individuals pushing the stroller we use so we have set the handles at an in-between height which works for all. The parents and grandparents range from 5 feet tall to 6 feet tall; none of these individuals feels uncomfortable with the one height setting. The wheels roll smoothly and pivot easily; it is entirely possible to move or turn the stroller with one hand. The edge of the seat is nicely padded and will not cut into those chubby infant/toddler legs. The harness system is easy to use; it opens and shuts without difficulty. One may have difficulty collapsing this stroller with one hand, but it is not difficult to do when using two hands. One simply has to be able to pull the center-back strap while lifting a lever with the other hand. The stroller is relatively compact when collapsed and still gives one plenty of trunk space for other packages. The basket under the stroller has a somewhat narrow opening and one may have to put items in the basket before the child is in the seat or use more compact carrying choices rather than chucking an entire filled diaper bag. However, it is roomy and will hold a good amount of things. The hood provides some protection from the elements, but does not completely shade the individual riding in the stroller.

I definitely recommend the Maclaren Quest Sport stroller to anyone who wants a quality piece of equipment and does not mind spending the money on it. It will serve you well and you will find you do not need one of the larger, more cumbersome strollers for your infant/toddler.

I would also recommend the Maclaren Universal Organizer to hold mom's water bottle, baby's sunglasses, and any other small items necessary for excursions. That accessory is a nice-to-have, particularly for those individuals who like to have a bottle of water with them at all times.

5 out of 5 stars The best stroller ever created!   March 23, 2010

By far the best stroller ever made. Folds easily, is light as a feather, is comfortable for your child/baby, and fits in small spaces. What more could you ask for? I would definitely recommend it. The harness is hard to open, but that is a blessing when you have a toddler!

4 out of 5 stars excellent city stroller   February 22, 2010

I'm happy with this stroller. I wanted something that was unobtrusive, could be comfortably maneuvered through crowded city spaces and narrow-aisled shops and restaurants, and that I could easily lift into the car. Pros: It is super maneuverable, smallish, lightweight and easy to open and close. The harness buckle is secure and childproof (you have to press quite hard on both the front and back, which throws people off the first time they try it - probably why the other reviewer thought their child was "stucked" in it). The handle height is great for both average-height me and my tall husband. Cons: The basket is on the small side, which is fine for our needs, but it's a little hard to get things into it since the space between the basket and the stroller is pretty tight. The sunshade could be bigger. Also, the brake doesn't always set easily, even though it seems to, so I have to be very conscious about making sure it is really set (hence the 4 star rating).
